New Course: Musculoskeletal Disorder Prevention Course for the Industrial Workplace
Does your industrial safety program need a lift? This 8-hour course is an introductory course designed for safety leaders to help them learn how to prevent the risks related to musculoskeletal injury in their workplace. Through the use of examples, workers will be taught what risks to look for in their workplace and how to avoid them through Ergonomics and safe body movements.
By the end of this course, you will understand:
- What are Musculoskeletal Injuries, including types, signs and symptoms.
- Risk Factors for Musculoskeletal Injuries, including back, neck, shoulder, and wrist injuries and how the body gets injured in the workplace.
- What is Ergonomics and how does it apply in your workplace
- Potential measures to address some of the ergonomic risk factors
- How to incorporate safe movement techniques for lifting, standing and sitting to work, working overhead and in front of the body.
- The importance of Stretching, Strengthening, and Maintaining Flexibility – includes some practical and fun exercises that teach employees about which muscles to stretch, and when and how to stretch.
Target Audience
This course is designed for Safety Leaders, Occupational Health Nurses, Health and Safety Committee Members, and similar who are responsible for implementing safety in their workplaces.
